A Study of Anatomy and Movement: A Weekend Immersion with Dr. David Dwyer at East Greenwich

 June 25 and 26, 2016 at 11:30 am - 5:30 pm

Join Dr. David Dwyer – Chiropractor, All That Matters’ Owner and Yoga Teacher – for this workshop that takes an in-depth look at the anatomy of yoga postures (asanas).

Specifically geared toward teachers and students of yoga, this workshop immerses the participant in the science of anatomy and movement from a yogic perspective. Investigate skeletal and muscular anatomy through lecture and interactively – through demonstration, discussion, and yoga asana practice. Learn how to modify yoga postures to suit individual structural and proportional differences, and begin to perceive the flow of energy in a posture, including the places where blockages occur. Understand common injuries associated with yoga practice, as well as ways to avoid injury. Explore principles that make movement more efficient and effortless.

Yoga students, body workers, and yoga teachers alike will benefit from this amazing journey into the body. Some yoga experience is recommended.

This workshop is part of our 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training, and includes both students from the public and students in the teacher training.
